Rolling out our track record
Founded in 1998 by turf experts Geoff and Sally Green, GHG (aka. Green Horticultural Group) won its first major contract growing turf for Sydney’s Olympic Stadium and spreading thousands of tonnes of ameliorants with our unique Unimog spreading trucks to the site that is now Sydney Olympic Park.

Since then GHG has grown – along with a passion for beautiful, natural open spaces and elite level sports fields. We pride ourselves on our unique range of specialised plant and equipment, as well as our ability to provide customer with quality turf construction, renovation, drainage, irrigation and maintenance services.

Customers benefiting from our services include: local government bodies, schools, universities, racecourses, sporting associations and public parks and gardens across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.

GYC (Garden, Yard, Construction) was established in 2006 when Australia’s oldest mower businesses (Lawrence Bros Power Equipment – est. 1927) took on a new image.

Between July 2006 and February 2009, GYC went on to acquire other established businesses in the Sydney region (Forest Mowers – est. 1970, Rotago Mowers – est. 1970 and Duffy’s Mowers Hornsby – est. in 1960) whilst also opening new stores including Castle Hill.

In July 2012 our Hornsby store and Thornleigh workshop merged and moved into new premises in a different Thornleigh location providing more space and ultimately a better sales and service experience for our valued customers.

In 2014, GYC acquired another store in Narellan which positioned the company as Australia’s largest independent retailer of garden power equipment.

With stores strategically located across Sydney, GYC offers a wealth of experience and expertise and stock all the leading brands in Australia including Honda, Victa, Stihl, and Toro. We support all our brands with a complete range of genuine spare parts as well as provide our customers with the very best after-sales service.

GYC is the major outdoor power equipment dealer selling and servicing TORO products in Metropolitan Sydney and has a national distributor agreement with Honda Australia selling Generators through our dedicated ‘Generator Place’ business.

GYC are industry leaders and a very trusted retailer held in high regard by all of our suppliers.
