into a fine dining restaurant especially for the occasion.

The event was a way for the entire Kennards Hire team to say thanks and reward their suppliers for the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout
the year.

130 suppliers were in attendance, many travelling across Australia for the event. Also in attendance were key members of the Kennards Hire family including
Angus Kennard, Rory Kennard, Cam Kennard, and Andy Kennard.

Over the course of the night, Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards were presented to the highest rated suppliers based on a survey that was completed by Kennards
Hire staff from over 150 branches across Australia and New Zealand. There were six different categories of awards, four of which align with Kennards
Hire’s core values: ‘Fair Dinkum’, ‘Every Customer A Raving Fan’, ‘Taking Hire Higher’, and ‘One Family’. There were two other awards for Customer
Service and Supplier Of The Year.

Although there were many winners on the night, two suppliers stood out above the rest. Trade tool and equipment company, Hilti won five awards on the night,
including the Supplier of The Year. N&D Mechanical also took out three awards, including the Gold Medal in the ‘Every Customer A Raving Fan’ category.

Recently appointed CEO of Kennards Hire, Liz Ward couldn’t have been happier with the night and the recipients of the evening’s awards.

“We owe a great deal of gratitude to every single person who attended the event”, said Liz.

“Kennards Hire wouldn’t be the successful brand that it is today, without the support and loyalty of all of our suppliers, some of which Kennards Hire
have been partnering with for up to fifty years.”

Worldwide guests visit Golf Industry Show in San Diego

Over 80 Ransomes Jacobsen guests and staff from Europe, the Asia-Pacific territory and South America attended the Golf Industry Show in San Diego recently.

Following long flights from all parts of the globe, the first full day in California featured a golf competition at Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort, where
23 teams from across the Ransomes Jacobsen territory competed in a Texas Scramble. Once again the winners came from Scandinavia as the Swedish group
of Ivan Vasilev, Mattias Jockert, Andreas Jonsson and Steven Balfour won the fun event. After returning to the hotel, the majority of the group assembled
at the fourth floor Pool Bar to watch the Super Bowl.

The next day, it was a return visit to Rancho Bernardo for a Product Demonstration event, bolstered by additional guests from Spain and Russia. For this,
the 105 guests were split into four groups and rotated between stations that featured the Jacobsen Spraytek, the new Jacobsen HR700 batwing rotary,
the Jacobsen Truckster — with an opportunity to test it against the competition, and finally a tour of the Rancho Bernardo maintenance facility.

Day three involved another early start as the group boarded coaches and were transported to the Coronado Municipal Golf Course for a combined Smithco/Turfco
demonstration event. Following breakfast in the clubhouse, both companies gave presentations on their new products and presented various staff and
dealer awards. This was followed by product demonstrations on the club’s driving range.

During the afternoon two Ransomes Jacobsen guests, Darren Baldwin — Head of Playing Surfaces and Estates at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, and
Chris Haspell — Course Manager at Castle Stuart Golf Links, provided fascinating back-to-back presentations on the construction and maintenance
of their diverse workplaces.

In the evening, the group plus other invited guests headed over to the Wavehouse Beach Club in Mission Beach for the Jacobsen Hospitality event, where
over 900 people were kept entertained by professional surfers in a man-made surf pool which created a variety of giant waves for them to demonstrate
their board skills.

Day four was Show Day, with the Jacobsen booth at the impressive San Diego Convention Centre a major attraction for the guests. The impressive display
of Jacobsen equipment included the new range of Jacobsen aerators, signifying the company’s return to this sector with three all-new tractor mounted
machines. Also on display was the new Jacobsen HR700 wide area rotary including the introduction of the world’s first 14 foot derivative, providing
the highest productivity from this class of mower.

The final day allowed the group a further visit to the show or the opportunity to relax or go shopping for souvenirs, before boarding the coaches late
afternoon for San Diego airport and the long flight home.

Commenting on the return flight Graham Brumpton, Course Manager at Ipswich Golf Club said it was a brilliant experience from start to finish.

“I didn’t really know what to expect as this was my first time as a guest of Ransomes Jacobsen to the Golf Industry Show. However, we were looked after
so well from start to finish and the hospitality was out of this world. The Jacobsen stand was very impressive and the overall show is huge, with so
much to see.

“We were able to network with other turf professionals from across the world and get to know a lot of the Jacobsen staff we don’t normally come into contact
with. It was a wonderful and intense six days, which included two 11 hour flights, but so worthwhile. I was delighted to be a guest on the trip.”

Andrew McKenna, Director of Golf at Silver Lakes Golf Estate in South Africa added it was one of the most exhausting and fun trips he had ever been
on.

“I would like to thank the Ransomes Jacobsen team for inviting me to the GIS in San Diego. It was extremely valuable and the networks of people that you
and the company have given to me and the African Turf Academy project is immeasurable in its value.

“Having the opportunity to connect with the leading course superintendents, manufacturers and users made the whole trip wonderful and hugely beneficial.
Spending time with everyone proved what a fantastic culture there is in the Ransomes Jacobsen Ipswich team and it certainly breeds a feeling of a customer-for-life
philosophy in a very natural way,” Andrew concluded.

RJ National achieves GEO Re-Certified

Ransomes Jacobsen’s three-hole golf course, The RJ National, located at their European headquarters on the outskirts of Ipswich, has been re-certified
by the Golf Environment Organization (GEO).

RJ National greenkeeper James Gotts proudly displaying the GEO Re-certification

RJ National greenkeeper James Gotts proudly displaying the GEO Re-certification

With this latest accolade, the RJ National becomes the first golf course in the UK to be awarded GEO Certified® status for commitment to sustainable
development for a third time.

In his report, Keith Duff, the independent verifier who carried out the course’s re-certification audit said the three-hole golf course and adjoining
noise testing area was designed for multiple uses – as a golf course, as a demonstration area for golf course maintenance machinery, and as a noise
testing facility for machinery.

“It was built in 2008 on industrial wasteland adjacent to the Ransomes Jacobson international headquarters and manufacturing facility in Ipswich. The
aim was to produce a sustainably managed golf course, using turf grasses (mainly bents and fescues) managed appropriately with low inputs of water,
fertiliser and pesticide. This has been achieved.

“There is a strong link with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, who provide ecological advice. All water abstraction and discharge, and energy use and waste management,
is undertaken as part of the whole site environmental management plan operated by Ransomes under ISO 14001. There is also a strong link with the nearby
Waldringfield Golf Club, whose Course Manager provides consultative support through a weekly visit in the summer. During the winter months, the retired
Course Manager from Woodbridge Golf Club provides monthly advice. Support is also provided, on an as needed basis, from Ipswich Golf Club greens staff,”
Keith said.

“There is clear evidence of steady continual improvement of all aspects of the facilities environmental performance over the nine years since initial certification
of the site, and especially with regard to ecosystems, energy and resources, environmental quality, and people and communities. The level of commitment
shown by the company, and their staff, is exemplary.”

The unique three-hole golf course was the brainchild of David Withers, the then Managing Director at Ransomes Jacobsen and now President of parent company,
Jacobsen.

“With the support of some our industry partners, our parent company Textron, and a tremendous team effort by everyone at Ipswich, especially our current
greenkeeper James Gotts, the RJ National has become a great success on many levels,” he said.

“The course is a great asset for testing machinery, showcasing the products we manufacture and is a facility to demonstrate our environmental leadership
to distributors and customers. Hopefully our example serves as an inspiration – showing that creating and maintaining a sustainable golf course can
be good for golf and good for business.”

GEO’s Chief executive Jonathan Smith concluded saying they were delighted that the RJ National has been re-certified, representing as it does, sustainability
throughout their golf environment through a continued commitment to protect and enhance nature, while using resources efficiently and carefully and
working together with their community.

“Re-certification is a vital point of credibility for all eco-labelling, affirming the important ‘continued improvement’ principle that makes sustainability
a mindset and a journey, rather than a static level to achieve. This also demonstrates that GEO Certified® can celebrate the achievements
of all types of courses, from RJ National’s innovative short course to high-profile, internationally recognised facilities.”

GEO is a stakeholder-funded, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to helping the global golf community establish leadership in sustainable development
and corporate responsibility. GEO administers GEO Certified®, golf’s international ecolabel. For more information, please visit www.golfenvironment.org

A ‘dam’ important flow for the community

Dams and reservoirs are important resources for a lot of rural communities — they have been used to provide and store water for agricultural purposes,
industrial use, and households for hundreds of years.

A 'dam' important flow for the community

Ample high pressure water supply and water-main flow pressure make the difference for a thriving community in unforgiving Australian climates.

Meeting strict National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) compliance and industry standards, Kennards Hire Test & Measure’s Hydrostatic Test Pumps enable automatic
pressure testing of pipeline systems, vessels and containers. The Hydrostatic Test Pumps are designed for the Plumbing and Civil industries to pressure
test water-main, pipeline and sewer force mains for possible leaks. These pumps supply more efficient and effective readings against pipeline leakages,
resulting in better reservoir and dam water supplies.

Nirav Patel, Project Engineer from Leed Engineering came into the Kennards Hire Test & Measure specialist branch in Glandore, SA knowing
exactly what he needed. Leed Engineering was commissioned to test water-main pressure of a newly laid pipeline infrastructure — running water
from the Murray River, to a reservoir in the Barossa region. They needed NATA compliant equipment to get an official reading and certification for
the project.

The Hydrostatic Pumps were perfectly suited for the task. Leed Engineering has been a happy customer of Kennards Hire Test & Measure, having
hired the Hydrostatic Test Pump on three separate occasions.

“The pump has been very good. There is never a problem with the equipment and it’s always fit for purpose. Kennards Hire Test & Measure has always
delivered the equipment on time.” explained Nirav.

Michael Hein, Kennards Hire Test & Measure Product Specialist, was pleased with the feedback from the customer.

“Leed Engineering has been so impressed with the flow and high pressure of the pump. They’ve used the pump on three other projects now.” Michael said.

The unit has been designed with ease of use in mind. Portable 14L water tank and conversion hoses enable use with an onsite reservoir.

Specifications:

  • 5.5hp engine
  • Hypro® Twin diaphragm pump – 9.5gpm / 550psi

Kennards Hire celebrates annual charity success

Kennards Hire has wrapped up their annual charity initiative, Kennards For Kids, with an incredibly successful result.

Kennards Hire celebrates annual charity success

Over the course of the two month campaign Kennards Hire raised over $367,000 for various children’s charities around the country. This is the biggest result
the annual initiative has seen to date.

Late last year, every Kennards Hire branch throughout NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, ACT and New Zealand donated $2 from
every hire to a specific charity in each state. This consisted of Stepping Stone House, Kids Xpress, Variety – The Children’s Charity, HeartKids, The
Constable Care Child Safety Foundation, Children’s Hospital Foundation and KidsCan.

Now wrapping up its 12th consecutive year, Kennards For Kids continues to grow year on year. All the charities are supporting children, either under privileged
or sick kids, and programs that help educate them on making good-life decisions. Kennards Hire have made sure that all the funds raised goes towards
the children, not towards running the charity.

Liz Ward, CEO of Kennards Hire, said that part of the exceptional result this year is due to the uptake of DIY customers looking for their own weekend
projects, and first time customers.

“Many of the current customers are aware of the program [Kennards For Kids] and the good work it does,” Liz stated, “…but this year has seen a lot
of new customers coming in to support the efforts of Kennards for Kids, and their local charities.”

Liz believes it is vital that kids are given every chance at a prosperous future, and is thrilled with the campaign’s success.

“We believe that it’s all about breaking negative cycles early on in a child’s life,” she explained.

“Kennards for Kids was created because it allows us to help the youth in our communities realise their potential. It really is the most rewarding part
of what we do, and to see so many people get involved with the cause.”

While Kennards Hire’s main charity drive each year is Kennards For Kids, local branches are involved in a range of independent community based projects,
such as school and environmental causes.

Stephen Tucker wins 2015 Edwin Budding Award

The 2015 Edwin Budding Award, named after the inventor of the lawnmower and presented by the Golf Course Superintendents’ Association of America (GCSAA)
in partnership with Ransomes Jacobsen, has been awarded to Stephen Tucker, Equipment Manager at Tranquillo Golf Club at Four Seasons in Golden Oak,
Florida.

Jacobsen President David Withers, Edwin Budding Award winner Stephen Tucker with GCSAA President John J. O'Keefe, CGCS

Jacobsen President David Withers, Edwin Budding Award winner Stephen Tucker with GCSAA President John J. O’Keefe, CGCS

The Edwin Budding Award is given to equipment managers and related innovators, technicians, educators, or engineers from across the globe, who have made
a significant impact in the golf and turf business.

Tucker was presented with the award at the British and International Golf Greenkeepers’ Association’s (BIGGA) Turf Management Exhibition in Harrogate,
England.

“It’s very humbling to be chosen for the Budding Award,” Tucker said. “But I feel that I still have a lot more to do in the industry. I would also not
be where I am without all the leaders and volunteers I had with me. I want to accept the award on behalf of all of those guys.”

Stephen Tucker has spent more than 16 years in the industry and was instrumental in the formation of the International Golf Course Equipment Managers Association
(IGCEMA) in 2007. He began by contacting other equipment managers from across the world to form an association so that the career path for equipment
managers could be more than just going from job to job. IGCEMA would eventually become a partner in the annual Golf Industry Show and establish a certification
programme that recognised technicians for demonstrating proficiency in six key competencies. Tucker would serve as the first president of IGCEMA and
eventually become its executive director.

“Stephen truly personifies the ethos behind the Budding Award,” said Alan Prickett, Managing Director of the award sponsors, Ransomes Jacobsen. “His innovative
thinking helped establish a network of knowledge and camaraderie for equipment managers across the world. His efforts not only benefitted equipment
managers, but the facilities they serve and the industry as a whole.”

As IGCEMA flourished it became apparent that it would need to consider hiring paid officials to increase the scope of its offerings to equipment managers,
as its growth had outpaced its resources. Following a meeting with GCSAA Past President Patrick Finlen, certified golf course superintendent and general
manager at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, the answer was clear.

“It was going to be difficult to push ahead, so we had to ask the question: What was best for equipment managers moving forward?” Tucker said. “GCSAA was
the answer to that.”

So, on April 27, 2015, GCSAA and IGEMA approved a membership union between the two organisations. IGCEMA would dissolve, and GCSAA would offer an equipment
manager membership classification. While this meant the end of IGCEMA, it also meant greater professional development and networking opportunities
for equipment managers. As part of the agreement, GCSAA took over the Edwin Budding Award.

Turfgrass Student of the Year off to North Carolina in May

Shaun Gerring, Assistant Superintendent at Green Acres Golf Club, situated on the banks of the Yarra River in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, has been
nominated as the top performing student on Melbourne Polytechnic’s Diploma of Sports Turf Management.

Shaun Gerring, Melbourne Polytechnic’s top performing turfgrass student, is heading for the USA to take part in Jacobsen’s Future Managers’ programme

Shaun Gerring, Melbourne Polytechnic’s top performing turfgrass student, is heading for the USA to take part in Jacobsen’s Future Managers’ programme

As a result of this achievement, he has been awarded a place on Jacobsen’s Future Turf Managers’ program, to be held in May 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Shaun began his career at Albert Park Golf Club as an apprentice greenkeeper in 2004. Albert Park Golf Club is situated just 2km from Melbourne’s busy
commercial business district, adjacent to the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit. He joined the Green Acres greenkeeping team in 2008.

Jacobsen, the manufacturer of golf course maintenance equipment with plants in the USA and UK, has a three-year agreement with Melbourne Polytechnic —
formerly Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE’s (NMIT) — to provide new equipment for use on the five golf courses managed by the Institute.

Included in the agreement is an annual scholarship for the college’s top performing student to travel to America and take part in Jacobsen’s Future Turf
Managers’ Programme (FTM). This programme sees similar top performing students from major US colleges being invited to Jacobsen’s headquarters in Charlotte,
North Carolina for a week-long training, mentoring and networking event.

Mike Foskett, Regional Sales Manager at Jacobsen praised Shaun as very conscientious with an excellent work ethic.

“He is determined to excel in his chosen career and is committed to continued professional development to ensure that he has all the skills ready for the
day he becomes a Superintendent. He’s a worthy candidate for the Future Turf Managers’ programme and will do Melbourne Polytechnic, his club and the
region proud.”

Turf Equipment SA is a new distribution company owned and operated by Jordan Ormsby, of Golf Car Solutions, the distributor of E-Z-GO and Club Car golf
cars, based at Marleston in South Australia.

Golf Car Solutions was established in 2002 and over the past 13 years has become South Australia’s largest golf car supplier. Managing Director Jordan
Ormsby is passionate about the Golf industry as his family history testifies. He is the son of the successful professional golfer and retailer Peter
Ormsby, and older brother of Wade Ormsby, who is currently playing on the European Tour.

“I would like to thank Jacobsen for the trust that they have put in me and Turf Equipment SA for the opportunity to represent their brands,” said Jordan,
commenting on his appointment.

“I am really excited about the future here in South Australia and believe that the 20 years I have had in the golf industry will assist in growing these
brands – Jacobsen, Ransomes and Dixie Chopper. I have been the EZGO and Club Car dealer for South Australia for many years so it’s a natural progression
to expand the business into the turf machinery sector.

“Over the years we have built great relationships with many of South Australia’s golf courses and councils, so moving into the turf machinery industry
will be a great challenge and one we are looking forward to. Fortunately I have a great team around me, which has allowed me to expand the business
into this new field. We recently moved into our new 6,000 square metre site, which is located within 3km of the center of Adelaide, so accessibility
to all parts of the state can be done with ease.”

Chuck Greif, Managing Director of Jacobsen’s Asia Pacific region added that they are delighted to have partnered with Turf Equipment SA and Jordan
Ormsby.

“The South Australia golf and municipal markets are key growth areas for our business and we see this partnership as a strategic move for all parties.
Jordan Ormsby and his business has a very high reputation for customer service and quality products. Jordan’s excellent reputation for service and
support extends well beyond the South Australian market and in this regard we feel that the team he has put together over the past several years will
reflect the quality and assurance in our brands.”

With 90 years of experience in the turf maintenance industry, Jacobsen has built a legacy of precision craftsmanship, legendary quality of cut and unmatched
expertise. Dedicated solely to delivering perfectly groomed turf, Jacobsen equipment is used on some of the finest golf courses, sports fields and
other formal turf areas across the United States and the world, through an extensive distribution network and the international Ransomes brand. For

The LawnBoss is selling like hotcakes!

Tailor made to show Australia’s unforgiving conditions who is boss, the LawnBoss Ride-On mower has attracted overwhelming attention, selling so fast that
until recently supply couldn’t meet demand. It has been the most popular piece of machinery to roll out of the Cox manufacturing plant in Brisbane
this season.

The LawnBoss is selling like hotcakes!

The LawnBoss is built and engineered in Australia using Australian made steel. Supported by PR, advertising and word-of-mouth LawnBoss has risen to unforseen
levels of demand, which led to many Cox Dealers around the country churning through their stock in next to no time.

Now, as a result of the ordering onslaught, Cox has upped production to meet the demand, and is now rolling out the next wave of LawnBoss Ride-On mowers
for the current season now in full swing.

“We knew the LawnBoss was a fantastic product, but we never anticipated them to sell out this fast,” said Cox Managing Director, Ken McColl.

“It really speaks to the value that Australians place on an Australian made, home grown brand. For all those who had previously missed out, we are happy
to announce that we now have stock available, and customers should feel free to head into their nearest Cox Dealer to snatch one up.”

As veterans of the mower industry, Cox’s design team built the LawnBoss to be, above all else, durable and reliable. The mower can be equipped with either
a 32” or 38” cutting deck, depending on the operator’s requirements. Formed and welded from heavy gauge steel cutting decks, a laser cut & keyed
unitary chassis designed by the Cox Engineering team, the LawnBoss is an Aussie mower in every sense of the term.

Ideal for small acreage blocks and the Australian climate, the LawnBoss is the superior Ride-On mower at its price point.

Every Cox ride-on mower is engineered to the same, exacting standards of quality and after-sales service established by Cox over 60 years in the business.
When it comes to quality and integrity of workmanship, Cox is the living legend of ride-on mowers.

Cox is backed by Quality Service, Parts and Accessories.

A new LawnBoss is backed by a 2 year conditional warranty, and a network of over 300 dedicated dealers throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific.

New innovations set to transform Aussie lawns and gardens

As one of the world’s leading small engine innovators, Briggs & Stratton has developed a reputation for constantly pushing the boundaries of possibility.
This pioneering spirit is once again evident in its latest selection of exciting new products, being launched in Australia from this spring.

New innovations set to transform Aussie lawns and gardens

“Innovation has played a key role in Briggs & Stratton’s small engine design for over a century. That focus doesn’t waver, and the innovations have
only gotten better,” says Thomas Rugg, Managing Director. “Evolving our small engine expertise in new ways and embracing technology are the driving
forces behind our engines that are engineered to be quieter, lighter and smaller.”

InStart™

Briggs & Stratton’s InStart engines are the first in the world to combine the power of petrol with the instant starting reliability of lithium-ion
battery technology. They’re Briggs & Stratton’s easiest starting engines.

Unlike traditional lead-acid batteries, the InStart battery can deliver up to 10 starts with just a 10-minute rapid recharge. With a full one hour charge,
InStart can provide up to 75 starts, providing enough power to meet the needs of most homeowners for an entire mowing season.

“This is the next generation starting system. InStart offers consumers the most advanced starting method on the market today,” says Tom. “The most outstanding
feature is the ease of the actual starting procedure, which completely negates the need for prime and choke functions. It also means that the pulling
of a starter cord is replaced by an easier starting option. More than 50% of recent mower buyers rated easy starting as being extremely important,
so this breakthrough will be welcome.”

Key InStart features include:

  • A smart lithium-ion battery that enables up to 10 starts from a 10-minute rapid recharge, and up to 75 starts from a full charge.
  • A petrol-powered engine that delivers the power and range to cut tall grass.

QPT™

An incredible 40% quieter than a traditional lawn mower*, QPT (Quieter Power Technology) enables users to mow their lawns without disturbing their neighbours.

The QPT innovation has been designed to reduce sound and vibration, resulting in significantly quieter, yet still powerful, equipment.

“One of the common things mower buyers have told us following their purchase is that they wish their mower was quieter,” says Tom. “QPT meets this need.
The reduced noise levels not only create amazing flexibility around the time of day you actually mow your lawn, but also enable you to have a conversation
while the engine is running.”

*Noise tested comparatively with previous equivalent Quantum Powered Victa models, measured at 7.5m according to NSW Noise Regulation 2008

The low levels of sound emission are made possible by key fuel system changes that allow for stronger and steadier fuel delivery. These factors combined
with additional modifications have resulted in quieter operation and better engine control speed.

It also includes ReadyStart®, Briggs & Stratton’s no prime, no choke starting system for worry-free starts.

EXi Series™

Representing industry-first technology, Briggs & Stratton’s powerful and highly durable EXi power plant is the first mower engine that never requires
an oil change.

“The development of the EXi comes in direct response to industry research that shows that consumers want ease when it comes to all aspects of mower use,”
says Tom.

Also featuring the convenience of QPT™ technology (see more above), EXi engines eliminate the need for oil changes through a series of important
design features, including.

  • A radial seal paper air cleaner that keeps dirt out of the engine and helps extend engine life.
  • An improved oil fill tube with extended flange that protects the tube from debris during routine oil checks.
  • A new Overhead Valve Design and cooling package that enables it to run cooler with less oil consumption. This acts to reduce oil temperature, which
in turn leads to slower oil decay and breakdown.
  • The addition of the Just Check ‘n’ Add™ feature that enables owners to regularly check their oil level and add new oil when necessary.
